Laura and Jim were married at Barclay Villa in Angier, NC. This was one of the coolest weddings I have ever photographed. Laura and Jim love attending Renaissance Fairs and have always wanted nice Renaissance costumes, so they decided to have a themed wedding. The wedding was Renaissance-inspired and they encouraged guests to dress on theme as well. Nearly everyone showed up in costume to have a merry time.
The wedding ceremony was officiated by their mutual friend who introduced them at a trivia night. The ceremony was short and sweet. Beforehand, they placed their wedding rings in a glass chalice that they took out and placed on each other's fingers during the ceremony. The officiant referred to them as "Lord Jim" and "Lady Laura" throughout the ceremony and and it concluded with sharing a drink of wine from the same chalice. Barclay Villa Castle couldnt have been more perfect for photographing a Renaissance Wedding.
